Tripoint Medical Center
Paul J. Ford and Company was selected by Karlsberger Architecture to provide structural design services for this new hospital owned by Lake Hospital System. The project scope included the design of a five story steel framed structure including a partial basement level. The building consists of approximately 300,000 square feet and an additional 14,000 square foot attached energy plant.
The building frame is a lateral load resisting steel moment frame allowing for maximum flexibility of floor space through the elimination of vertical bracing. The building was designed to accommodate future expansion of the hospital. Points of interest include design of several roof areas to be utilized as roof gardens, a 2,400 square foot two level lobby space and vestibule, and a 25-foot canopy cantilevered off the vestibule at the main entrance.
