Cedarville Health Sciences Center

Cedarville University, Cedarville, Ohio

Paul J. Ford and Company designed a new three-story Health Sciences Center for Cedarville University. This new facility will be used by students pursuing the pharmaceutical sciences and nursing professions. The layout of the Health Sciences Center integrates faculty offices, classrooms including two 120-seat auditoriums, laboratories, and collaboration rooms that support these fields of study.

The Health Sciences Center utilizes a cast-in- place concrete wide module joist system and moment frames supported on spread footings. This structural system allowed us to maintain a uniform flush soffit system throughout the structure in addition to large clear spans over the auditorium classrooms. Paul J. Ford and Company’s design also incorporated a 15,000 square foot future clinic expansion, and a one story masonry building that will house an ambulance serving the surrounding campus.
